Remote Learning

What is remote learning?

Remote learning is the way class teachers will deliver the curriculum when the class or school is closed. This is a rare occurrence and will only happen in exceptional circumstances.

When is remote learning necessary?

Below are a range of circumstances when remote learning is required. They are:

  • school is closed to all children within term time, due to adverse weather conditions.
  • school is closed to all children within term time, due to an emergency on site, e.g. no water.
  • school is closed due to a government directive.

Tapestry

In the event of remote learning being implemented, we will use our online learning journal for all our home learning. This app can be used on a laptop, smart phone, i-pad or tablet.

All children have Tapestry accounts that parents can securely log in to. We will upload learning tasks on to the platform for the children to complete. These might include video lessons, challenges or downloadable worksheets.

Access to devices:

Parents and carers who do not have the necessary devices for their child/ren to access Tapestry should contact the school office, other ways of accessing the learning will be made available.
